In a special collaboration between Technics and Zwart Liefde, the Dutch vinyl only event concept, seasoned veteran DJ and producer Chuckie performed an inspiring set at Lynk&Co’s “The Synth Box” location. During his set, the Surinamese artist professed his love for vinyl, as Technics invited him to elaborate on it.


That invitation elevated the showcase to a masterclass, where the deejay dove into his obscure vinyl obsession. “I must have at least 10k records that I never want to part with,” Chuckie confessed as he revealed his participation under the Zwarte Liefde banner. The artist feverously dug through tracks, giving attendees a rare insight into how his signature Dutch House sound developed.

In his excitement, Chuckie also gave the audience a world’s first exclusive. For his ADE sets, the DJ testpressed a self-produced remix of Simple Simon & Sister Smurf’s ‘Boggling Queen’ and proudly showed it off to the audience. “Most of you will know this track”, Chuckie expressed with a smile. The producer explained how he was able to buy the rights for that record and on top of that, create a very typical Chuckie remix. “Make sure you connect with the original artists first before attempting a remix like that”, Chuckie warned the youthful audience.

All the teaching aside, the showcase revolved around Chuckie’s DJ set and eventually he took the full second half of his set to pull off a typical Chuckie mix, rich with drum patterns and unconventional rhythms. Warmly, he asked the entire audience to rise and simply do their own thing, such as to break whatever ice still was left and leave the attendees with over 30 minutes of entertainment, leaving the crowd to socialize and network.
